Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 75483
Impossible to open in 2.1 native databases made under 2.0
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:45:17 UTC
After having updated Ooo from 2.0 to 2.1 when I open an ODB database with native content (no link to existing database) it opens on Forms (normal). When I click on "Tables" (left frame) it says +/- (it's in French) "Cannot read the tables". I tried it with several others and it didn't work as well. When I downgrade to 2.0 it works perfectly. With dbf linked database it does also strange things (see an other bug report). OS: openSUSE 10.2 x86_64 OOo version: Novell's version 2.1-0.1 x86_64
Can you attach the odb-file, please? There has been issue 73634, which sounds similar and is fixed in OOo2.2. Could you please check whether the problem has gone in OOo2.2RC? http://download.openoffice.org/680/index.html
The ODB includes personal informations from members of a non profit organisation. I cannot send it.
My OOo 2.2RC has problems with my JRE environment. So I can't check if it works. I'll try to make an other native ODB that has the same problem and I'll attach it for you to try. The issue 75484 was resolved in 2.2RC. I'll check also that JRE works well in 2.1=
I've tried to open tables from native ODB under different versions of OOo: - 2.0 i586 : works - 2.1 x86_64 : doesn't work - 2.1 i586 : WORKS - 2.2RC i586 : doesn't work because it doesn't find my JRE environment So, the 2.1 doesn't seems to be the problem but the architecture version (sinds it works under 2.1 i586). I have both JRE 32 and 64 bits... Probably it cannot open the tables in x86_64 version because of JRE issues (but there are no JRE problem messages).
jeancayron, as far as I know there is no 64bit community build - it is produced by somebody else (if I am not mistaken). So I suggest raising the issue with them and closing this issue as invalid. Please reopen if I am mistaken and there is 64bit community build. BTW, you can create simple dummy database to illustrate your case.
