Description darkatis 2007-03-26 12:44:49 UTC
*** FRANCAIS

*** ENGLISH (Sorry, i have a very poor english).
I have some crash with OOO since i use windows vista. With calc lot of time, but
with writer, impress ans help frame too.
If i try to move a frame (windows ?) (fonction assistant for exemple) , UI
freeze immediatly. I must kill software with task manager.
Same bug if i try to move the help windows (F1). test with v2.1 FR dans 2.2 beta
RC3 with french language pack.

Thanks / merci

I've tried with the french version of OOo 2.2 rc4. No crash or freeze observed.
I would assume that this issue is just another manifestation of issue 63848. It
might help to disable "Show window contents while dragging" in the display
settings (appearance settings).

Have you tested the described workaround? You don't have to open a new issue if
you reopen this issue!

I installed the RC4, which was to solve the problems of freeze with Vista.
I am sorry, but the bug is always here.
With writer (for example), if I open the stylist (F11) and that I move the
window, ooo freeze immediately, and I must kill it in the task manager.
Same think with calc, with the function assistant for example.
As soon as I move the window, OOO will freeze (crash).

i have vista ultimate 32bits, i'v tryed OOO 2.1, RC3, RC4 , US RC3, US RC 4
I think that the bug is with the french vista only, because you have say : I've
tried with the french version of OOo 2.2 rc4. No crash or freeze observed.
Have you an US vista ?

(sorry again for my english)

I can't imagine that this depends on the language of your OS. If this is true
you should submit a bug to MS. I think it's more a hardware/driver problem. Have
you tried the workaround I've described here: "It might help to disable "Show
window contents while dragging" in the display settings (appearance settings)."?

Wonderfull !
When i disabled "Show window contents while dragging" i have no more freeze !!!
But i really dont think that i have a hardware/driver problem because with all
over software using small pop-up windows, i have any problems (Dreamweaver,
photoshop, xnview, ftpexpert ...)
others french users have same problem (i read that on some forums)

Other software has other developers and other methods to develop.
