Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 75886
680 orange icon
Last modified: 2009-05-03 02:35:30 UTC
Hi on dev@website, we discussed having a nice orange button for 680 (developer) builds. On the OOo homepage (www/www/index.html), it would accompany the green button for stable downloads. The criteria: needs to look nice (burn orange?) and be obvious but not obtrusive, and it needs to fit on the page. We could also use this button elsewhere, esp. where developers gather. thanks louis

Here is the source SVG, feel free to improve it.
hi Uhm. this is nice, but it's more a warning than an invitiation. Alexandro, can you do a graphic just like the green one for downloads but orange that states, "developer build"? Thanks!

thanks! will try this out. louis
Reassigning as I am not actively participating.
Lazily selecting 'Reassign issue to owner of selected subcomponent' didn't work, so trying the next option :)
Are you ok to close this now?
Hmmm... it is not nice to complain when you don't have time to contribute ... but even though I think the second button looks not bad ( ;) ), I am not sure whether it is good to place it next to the green buttons for reasons earlier posted on the dev@web list, mainly coming down to increased confusion among first time visitors. Some of my spare time however is going into thinking about the problem, and when I have time to discuss it in more detail I will start a discussion on dev@web: yes I think it becomes time for rethinking the entire homepage again.
I agree that we need to rethink the homepage! :-) But let's try out a few samples with Mr. Orange Button, to see how it looks. so, let's keep this issue alive a little longer....
"alive a little longer...." is over now, I think. If the website project still works on this issue (or restarts working on it), please reopen it.
