Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7604
missing key shortcut from Calc keyboard shortcut overviews
Last modified: 2003-05-06 10:49:29 UTC
and that is: CTRL + SHIFT + Cursor Keys to select cells in a row (left/right key) or column (up/down key) which have content from the current position so ------ if I'm at B2 and use CTRL + SHIFT + right, B2:D2 becomes selected -xxx-- -x---- ------ x=content, -=empty
Where are you seeing this issue?
Calc menu Help->Contents->spreadsheet keyboard shortcuts->navigating in spreadsheets: Table in this table, the mentioned shortcut is missing. this is a very useful feaure which seems only be available by keyboard shortcut and therefore it must be listed there (actually all should be listed there, seperatd by: achievable by mouse also, achievable by keaboard only, very handy shortcuts) (note: a similar is listed) (translated from german version)
What cool shortcuts firstly. Very useful. I never knew they existed! I can also confirm that: Windows 98: Build 643 the help file Help about OpenOffice.org Calc Shortcut keys for Spreadsheet Table Does not list them even though there is a "This can be done from keys only" Mandrake 9.0: Version 1.0.1 Same help file does not list them and does not seem to have a "This can be done from keys only"
We are waiting for the new XML format Help System to come about before making to many changes to the Help Files. I don't know when this will be done though.
FPE->UFI: Pls check
The Help lists the Ctrl+Arrow keys for cursor travel. The additional Shift key for selecting the area the cursor travels should be known as a general "selection" modifier key. But I edited file scalc/04/01020000 to explicitely add these shortcuts.
Will be checked with master.
