In the wake of CWS presfixes12, the need for cairocanvas under X11 becomes more
pressing, as glyphs on non-background layers are rendered with disabled
anti-aliasing and show visible artifacts.

Cairo support is only needed during build-time - in the running office, system
cairo (if available) can be used.

Cairo prerequisites: freetype, xrender headers. Cairo itself should be something
>=1.0.4.

@hjs: yep, thx. Haven't gotten around putting that to use, as presfixes12 is
delayed...

not sure. i've seen you added a module cairo to external. is this already used
by other modules?

The new cairo module is not required by any other modules yet.

Cairo is being used by X11 in VCL, and by X11/Mac Quartz/win32 in CANVAS. So
far, however, cairo library itself has been obtained outside of OOo.

I'm guessing that this is duplicate of issue 87860. Please re-open if this is
not so.
