Kurzbeschreibung, wie PostgreSQL unter Windows installiert wird und was zu
konfigurieren ist, um es in OOo anzubinden.
Soll in den Bereich "Datenbanken" Abschnitt "Technische Hintergründe" einfliessen.

erste Rückmeldung:

Beim Einrichten der Datenbank komme ich dann nicht weiter. Bis zu

 "cygrunsrv --install PostgreSQL --path /usr/bin/postmaster --args "-D
/var/pgsql/data -i" --dep ipc-daemon --termsig INT --shutdown"

funktioniert alles (der Service taucht auch im Servismanager von Windows
auf).

bei "Cygrunsrv -S PostgreSQL" erhalte ich jedoch folgende Fehlermeldung:
"cygrunsrv: error starting a service: StartService: Win32 error 1068:
Der Abhängigkeitsdienst oder die Abhängigkeitsgruppe konnte nicht
gestartet
werden"

bei "createuser -d -a postgres" erhalte ich dann folgende Fehlermeldung:
"psql: could not connect to server: Connection refused
        Is the server running locally and accepting
        connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
 createuser: creation of user "postgres" failed

bei "createdb -U postgres PostgreSQL" kommt die gleiche Meldung nochmal.

Ich hab den Service dann wieder mit "cygrunsrv -R PostgreSQL2
deistalliert.

Hast du eine Idee woran das Problem liegen könnte (Win2K?)

Der Service "ipc-deamon" war dabei angeblich registriert und
gestartet. Die Fehlermeldung ist mir deshalb unverständlich. 
Die Installation sollte nochmal durchgespielt werden.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
