Description paauw 2007-06-10 18:55:28 UTC
When autofilter is on and a graph is visible, then when selecting a value in the
autofilter dropdown-box makes Calc eat all memory until it crashes.

To reproduce, follow these simple steps:

1. Enter four column names in the first row: "Date", "Year", "Month", "Value".

2. Fill Column A with a couple of date values, 20 rows is enough.

3. Fill Column B with the formula "=year(A2)", so it displays the year of the
date in column A. Drag this formula for the whole column, about 20 rows.

4. Fill Column C with the formula "=month(A2)", so it displays the year of the
date in column A. Drag this formula for the whole column, about 20 rows.

5. Fill Column D with a random integer value, about 20 rows.

6. Make a line graph from column A and D.

7. Select column A, B, C, D and choose "Autofilter" from the menu.

Now everything is set up.

To reproduce the issue:

8. Select the autofilter dropdown-box in Column D and choose a value.

Your memory is now rapidly declining, and Calc will fail.

Not confirm.
1. Win2K OOo 2.2.
2. OpenSUSE 10.2 OOo 2.1.

Reproduced, as above, on two different installations of Ubuntu 6.06 (LTS,
Desktop version).

NOT reproducable on Windows XP.

I'll try a couple other scenario's soon.

Confirming with OO2.2 on Mandriva 2007. Repro steps - open attached file and in
autofilter in column D select any value - Calc crashes.
Upping priority, setting keyword.

kpalagin's attachment does not crash in Oo.o 2.2 on Win XP.

It does however mangle the size dimensions of the graph after selecting a couple
of values in column D. Not sure if this is related to the issue at hand.

Hi,

used OOo2.2.1 and could not reproduce.

Closing worksforme, maybe a problem of the distros OOo.

Using 2.3m220 on Suse 10.2 Calc still crashes using attached file.
Reopening.

Checked it again with m217 and m222 on SuSE 10.1 and Windows. Could not
reproduce. Therefore closed wfm.
