According to ISO 4217 MA amendment #138 there will be a new currency in
Ghana, effective from 2007-07-01

Decimals: 2
Name: Ghana Cedi

Does anyone happen to know if the currency symbol stays the same? The old one
for GHC Cedi was U+20B5 "₵".

Actually there are 4 locales affected: ak_GH.xml  ee_GH.xml  en_GH.xml  ha_GH.xml

According to ISO 4217 amendment #139 the Bank of Ghana requested that the alpha
code be chaned from GHP to GHS.

According to http://www.ghanacedi.gov.gh/ the new currency symbol is "GH¢",
respectively "GH₵" when using the real Unicode CEDI SIGN.
