Using OOo Writer of OOo 2.2.1  and selecting "Insert Envelope" causes the entire
program to crash.  Selecting an envelope doc created and working does cause a
crash.  My Workaround is to just open a prior envelope and edit that but this
reaction is new.

Your workaround is to open a prior envelope & Crash by insert envelope doesn't
fit. Please give more details. Does it worked in the past?

Is the OOo2.2.1 release provided by your Linux distributor?

I am running Slackware 12.0.  OO was installed by downloading the supposedly
Vanilla OO and then running rpm2tgz on the rpms and installing the tgz files in
Slackware.  

I also note that Opening an old document and editing the envelope works, while
just selecting insert envelope still causes OO to disappear.  I can live with
the workaround but it's still present.

I can't reproduce the crash with my Suse 10.
Please get the latest regular build from here, the OOo page and test it again.

After installing the latest development version, the issue doesn't seem to
exist.  I can select "insert envelope" without crashing OO.
