Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 78735
Extension Manager: Shared extension leaves trash in userdir / breaks deinstall and unopkg
Last modified: 2007-07-24 14:18:11 UTC
This is a follow-up to issue #78732 Prerequisite: - Office installed as root - Star office as local user once, close it Reproduction: - Open a terminal, do a 'sudo /opt/staroffice8/program/unopkg gui' (might work with 'su -' as well). - Try to install an extension that has a license (e.g. ShortLicense.oxt). -> You will be warned that the extension cannot be installed (all users must accept license), so far so good. - Abort the installation - As the local user open a terminal and try to delete the userlayer. -> There is a lot of garbage in the userlayer and the user is unable to remove the directory. (The files have root as owner!) -> The Extension Manager is broken for the user. A testenvironment is available upon request.
.
I think this behavior is correct. All files which are written belong to root when one uses sudo.
