Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 79190
automatic response to mail sent to security-team@
Last modified: 2021-05-27 19:28:20 UTC
How feasible would it be to set up an automatic response to mail sent by nonsubscribers to security- team@openoffice.org? the response would be: "Thank you for submitting your email to our security team. Please note this address is for reporting security issues only. If your email was not about a suspected security vulnerability, please resend it to a more appropriate list. You can find out more about our lists at http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html. Our contact information is at http://www.openoffice.org/contact.html" Thanks louis
Hi Louis, Thank you for contacting CollabNet Support & submitting a Enhancement Request. Your request is under process & will be reviewed internally. An update will be provided as soon as the request has been accepted by the product management team. Meanwhile if you feel you require the enhancement to be considered/implemented immediately, please let us know & our services team would prepare a fee based Statement of Work (SOW) to help expedite the implementation of this request. Thanks, Harsha Support Operations.
Hi, I have been investigating on this request for some time and found due to revamping of the communication tools, this automatic response message would be implemented in the discussion services which would go through the normal enhancement process. So, it would take some time to fix the target milestone of this request. Thanks, Harsha Support Operations.
Louis, Our Product management has reviewed the current road map and have identified that setting up an automatic response template to mail sent by nonsubscribers to security-team@openffice.org would not be possible as of now. However, it would be considered in the future releases as Discussion Services enhancement. Thanks, Harsha Support Operations.
This request really applies only to mailing lists, as in Discussions, posting rights are not governed by subscriptions. The Discussions do send a standard bounce message of the form: "We are sorry, but you do not have permission to post to this discussion". Regards, Karishma CollabNet Support
Not sure if I misunderstood it: We want to have a custom text which is send back to people who send to the list but are not subscribed. But this text must be something meaningful provided from the security team. A default text like "We are sorry, but you do not have permission to post to this discussion" is _not_ appropriate.
