In filtering the data it does not provide any facility to pickup "Blanks"
 

For ex :
Open the office Spread sheet 

Enter Some data with some blanks in between 

And click on Data -- > Filter --> Auto Filter

now on the applied filter it displays all available options 
but in those options it'll not display any blanks
