Description acolorado 2007-09-25 23:07:20 UTC
This is the some modifications I made to the OOoWiki. This CSS will add the OOo
tigris-like CSS to mediawiki.

The css still in alpha stage. I suggest to test it and give feedback.

I am still working on inserting the OpenOffice.org logo into the span of the
page.

I also suggest to add the OOo favico to the wiki URL.

I'm not really sure one would want this ... Personally, I find the Wiki's
appearance more appealing than the default OOo site layout.

In particular, comparing http://www.oooxtremo.org/test/mediawiki.html (the
sample site you pointed to in a mail outside this issue) with
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Main_Page, the latter looks fresher to me.

moving to website project...
Comment 5 lsuarezpotts 2007-10-03 04:50:05 UTC
we can discuss this on the list, if it's not already being discussed there...

Comment 6 acolorado 2007-10-03 05:10:00 UTC
it was discussed last week and the consensus was that we should try it. Can we
move forward with this and have it on the meadia wiki skins.
Comment 7 lsuarezpotts 2007-10-03 14:03:35 UTC
I read over the discussions....

FS, I think you should raise your objections on the dev@website list, not here, where the audience is too
small. Alexandro is correct: there was positive consensus. We can always further edit the look, of course,
but for now, I see no compelling reason not to use the proposed look.

Stefan, as you control the wiki, am assigning this to you... :-)

There is already a running version of the CSS on a MediaWiki at:

Wiki logo proposal #2 takes the oiginal design on a smaller version.
Comment 14 smaug42 2008-02-07 07:54:13 UTC
I have placed the new proposed logo onto the test Wiki. There is an error in
the SVG file regarding a missing linked image.... so maybe something is missing?

I notice that the OpenOffice.org part is missing. Is that intentional? or is
that the missing linked part of the SVG?
Comment 15 acolorado 2008-02-07 07:57:20 UTC
Good point the OpenOffice.org part was a png that was inserted. I should
replace it with an SVG OpenOffice.org logo. Just a question which one did you
used from the two I upload?

fully SVG for proposal #2
Comment 18 smaug42 2008-02-07 08:54:54 UTC
I uploaded the new version of proposal 2 (I picked this one because it is
closest to the original logo). Proposal 1 can also be easily uploaded if
someone wants to see it in place.

I tested the pages on Firefox, Opera and Konqueror in Linux, and everything
looks OK (logo in the right place, page elements behaving correctly etc.)

I tested the new layout on Firefox and IE6 in Windows. Firefox on Windows
rendered exactly the same as in Linux.

IE6 though, as usual, is broken:
  - The Logo image is layered on top of the "article" and "discussion" links.
  - The line under Heading 1 ends up on top of the elements on the right side of
the page (instead of under like on all other browsers).

I cannot test IE7. Someone who has access to this browser should take a quick
look and see if it is also having similar issues.
Comment 19 stx123 2008-02-07 09:29:39 UTC
But MonoBook looks fine in IE6 in the old as well as in the new Mediawiki instance.
