Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 82312
Excel 2003 XML export can lose formatting
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:27 UTC
When exporting files in Excel XML format, formatting can be lost. To see this: 1. Download http://www.tomseddon.plus.com/files/xmlexportbug.ods . 2. Load the file you downloaded into Openoffice 2.3. 3. File, Save As, select "Microsoft Excel 2003 XML" format, type in a filename, press Return. 4. Wait for it to save. 5. Quit OpenOffice. 6. Start OpenOffice. 7. Load the Excel XML file you just saved. Note that the formatting is not the same as it was, as a number of non-empty cells have lost their background colour. (And the empty cells too, which is not ideal, but I assume that is by design.)
Created attachment 48750 [details] Spreadsheet that demonstrates the problem.
Hi Swante, a double to Issue 68011 ? If so, we have to set this one as double and reopen 68011. Please have a look and proceed as needed. Frank
It may be related to bug 68011 as having added more worksheets to the spreadsheet I now have a number of coloured columns, despite not having added any extra colour, and in particular never (I'm pretty sure) having added any colour to a column. The colour is still vanishing from certain non-empty cells. (There's no discernible pattern but it looks to be broadly the same set of cells as was the case before.)
I am sorry, I am no longer working on this format. Changed target to Office later. Is anybody able to take this over? And/or provide a patch for this problem? Thanks in advance, Svante
