Description arasaka 2007-10-17 22:53:24 UTC
Please bear with me on this:

The bare minimum to recreate this (as attached):
-1 Spreadsheet document, with two sheets filled out
-2 Writer documents, each with DDE link to one of the sheets
-1 Chart in one of the writer documents, created from the DDE link data
-1 Master document, with the chartless file first, and the charted file second.

In the master document, the chart (from the second file) will display either
nothing (after update) or some data relating to the DDE link in the first file.
Thus, one would think master documents don't like charts... Or the other way
around.

Turns out that inserting several Charts (say 4) could cause a C++ Runtime error
on saving. Is there anyway I can lobby for this issue to be resolved earlier
than 3.x?

Testing in 2.4.1 does not reproduce the error (even the 4 chart mention). Mark
as resolved?

Testing in 3.0.1 does not reproduce the error. Mark as resolved?

The bug still exists in 3.0.1 and 3.1. You have to select Tools.Update.All
Charts to see the problem.
When selecting "Update all", the Chart will be taken from the linked
sub-document, where it is stored correctly.
