Description serg_z 2007-11-01 13:34:15 UTC
1. Start to create presentaion
2. Create blank presentaion
3. Now we have blank page without design
4. Choose the "Header, slide" design
5. Select Outline mode and put any text of header
6. Press Enter key at the end of header. We get one more slide.
7. select back Draw mode. We see that design of slide is changed (compare to step4).

I use unofficial build OOo, so, plz, first try it on official build.

I see this bug at OOo 2.2.1 Infra-Resurce

In my mind the bug is that you don't get a title text slide after a title slide
in the normal view.
I think it's more likely that you want to continue with the text of the
presentation but with another title slide.

First slide and second slide have a different design.
Plz, Ñompare the Slide Design of step4.jpg and step7.jpg.
At step4.jpg use SECOND Slide Design, but at step7.jpg use THIRD Slide Design.
Sorry for my bad English.

In other words:
if I add new slide in Draw Mode, its design is the same as previous.
if I add new slide in Outline Mode, its design is NOT the same as previous.

In my mind this is an enhancement and not a bug.
Inserting a slide should always behave the same independent of the view.
Either I should get the same slide like in the normal view or Slide sorter or I
should get a kind of following slide like in the outline view but it should
behave the same in each view.

In my mind this is an enhancement and not a bug.
Well, lets it be an enhancement.

Retested with AOO 4.1.1 on Win7x64 (6.1).

The latest (as of above) version of Impress no longer behaves as described in the bug.

In version 2.3 (against which the case was raised) you will always get a slide of the same type as the previous. E.g.
 - if you are on a "Title Slide" and add a new slide,
 - you will get a new "Title Slide"
Same goes for other types of slides in version 2.3 EXCEPT in the instance described in this report. I.e.

 - Select a slide of the type "Header, slide"
 - Go to Outline mode
 - Add a new slide in Outline mode. Observe that the new slide is of the type "Title, Text"

Admittedly, this can be considered an inconsistency in AOO 2.3. However, in version 4.1.1:
 - If you are on a Title slide and add a new slide
 - you will ALWAYS get a new slide of the type "Title, Content". Even if the title slide isn't the first slide.

This is consistent with how Google Presentation and MS Powerpoint (2013) behaves.

In other words, what was a special case behaviour in AOO 2.3 is now the industry standard behaviour including AOO 4.1.1. For this reason - and the fact that this was reported in 2007 - I recommend that this case is closed.
