Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 8332
Enhance autofilter with blanks/nonblanks
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:27 UTC
To increase the user friendlyness of the autofilter a select for -Blanks- and -NonBlanks- would be very nice so the Standard filter is not needed for these selections.
Reposted for review.
Hi Bettina, one4you
Hello Niklas, this enhancement increases the usage-recognition for users of competing spreadsheets. Please give approval for this evaluated OO.o 2.0 flagged issue. If you confirm with the target OO.o 2.0, then please keep it on your owner (or the owner of the concerning developer) for implementation. In case you want this issue for 'OOo Later', then please reset the target milestone. If you decline the issue finally, please set the resolution to 'Wontfix' (but do not close). In case of 'OOo Later' or 'Wontfix' please reset it on Bettina's owner. Thank you.

This is not on the list of features that we're going to do for 2.0. We need to focus on the enhancements from the PCD document.
This feature is used by regular spreadsheet users quite often (we use this every day in our company). Many people can not understand why they have to go through the extra steps involved in setting up a Standard filter, when Excel has these options right on the Autofilter menu. Considering the massive amout of work that has been done to make OpenOffice more user friendly, it is a shame that this issue has slipped through the cracks.

Created attachment 39060 [details] autofiler empty/nonempty patch from Novell
The Novel-modified version of OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 that comes with OpenSuse has this issue fixed. The patch is in the source-RPM in the file: OOO_2_0_3_suse/ooo-build-2.0.3.0/patches/src680/sc-autofilter-empty-nonempty.diff I attached it in the preceding comment. Perhaps more of these patches might be useful for the OOO project?
Hi Niklas, please have a look at this one. Frank
Set to correct owner for enhancements.
As it is a PATCH now, development have to decide or at least have a look at the patch. So it's up to NN. Frank
The patch is already in issue 35578, currently waiting for feedback from User Experience. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 35578 ***
