Description pagalmes.lists 2007-11-08 14:27:03 UTC
When I want to copy formatting using the stencil, the paragraph style is copied.
It is not possible to copy only the formatting of characters without having the
paragraph formatting also copied.

This is annoying as you can see in the attached screenshots

Thanks for the explataion of the ctrl+click.

It is nice, but most user will never know about it. The current behaviour is not
what users would expect, I thus reopen the issue.

This should be straightforward and work as in Excel. Maybe one approach would be :

if you select text that is overloaded compared to the paragraph style, it should
copy the overloaded attributes and not the paragraph style ?

Well personaly I don't know what "the users" want.
I don't want the behavior you describe. But I'am not "the users"...
Are you them?

I guess this issue will only get fixed with a lot of votes.

So start on it!

@es : :-)

Nope, I am not "the users", but I work with many of them everyday who report to
me what they love in the OOo behaviour and also what they would like to be
improved. This issue was not "my" issue, but only one that a few users I work
with reported.

They told me that the behaviour in Word was more "natural" to them, thus I
reported this issue.

For sure, this is not a priority, but it is interresting to keep on mind that
this could be improved.

Best regards,
Pierre-Andre
