Description marcosclima 2007-11-08 20:01:13 UTC
folks,
OO writer brakes the line between a letter and the symbol '$', I saw that when
writing currencies. The only way I found to work with this was force-braking the
line. For example:

The total amount owned was US
$ 123,654.00.

The total amount owned was <line-brake>
US$ 123,654.00.

In fact I'm using this in Brazilian Portuguese and the defect occurs between 'R'
and '$', in Brazilian currency symbol 'R$'. But it also occurs in any letter-$
combination.

Thanks for those who improve OO,

Marcos

You can insert the formatting mark "no-width no break" between Letter and $. You
find it in the menu "Insert" if you have checked "Enabled for complex text
layout" in Tools > Option > Language Settings" > Languages.

The break occurs as described, but I don't know whether this issue is a defect
or an enhancement.

Added SBA to cc.

MRU->KHONG: as described, having a letter character and a currency symbol
(applies also to Yen or Euro sign) they will be splitted on line break. Worked
fine in OO 2.2.
