Fix broken and flawed automated test cases.

Set target

Current goal: 
- Eliminate keyboard navigation on toolbars (does not work reliably)
- Eliminate sleep() calls (up to 20% time savings possible)

The main objective of this task has been reached, sleep() statements have been
removed and test cases using keyboard navigation have been removed or rewritten.
