openoffice crashes on machine with ati radeonx1650 graphics

On startup any application of the openoffice suite crashes (within 1 second after start). the KDE crashmanager produces the following output which suggests a problem with the fglrx module. tests of the fglrx module with fglrxinfo and glxinfo result in an properly working graphic driver Überprüfung der Systemkonfiguration beim Start deaktiviert. Please add some details about you Linux distribution. You don't use a vanilla OOo build but a build that comes along with your Linux distribution. @ cmc: Something you would have a look on or should I close this issue as invalid?
Don't know if this is fedora or not, but it definitely indicates a generic problem with glx stuff and not specific to OOo. Perhaps running glxgears might help also. But I'd suggest reporting it to the distribution "X or video driver" component as I suspect the problem lies there, and not in any specific OOo version itself
I use Suse 10.3 and the Openoffice version that was included. I performed an upgrade from 10.2 to 10.3.
As cmc suggested, please file this issue against Suse and the "X or video driver" component.
