There is a problem with animated text in Impress.
Add a frame to the slide. Enter some text into it (in attachment: "Text, text,
text"). Then make the text animated (in attachment the text blinks). After that
apply any effect to the frame and run demonstration. The text doesn't appear!

Confirming using 2.4m241 on WinXP - as described.
