Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 8556
possibility to print from the command line?
Last modified: 2003-03-13 10:28:23 UTC
I work in an environment wherein mine is the only computer runing OOo. Hence, I often use my machine remotely from the command-line. Unfortunately, when I need to print a OOo document, I need, as far as I know, to be able to *run* OOo to do so. Would there be a way to write a conversion tool to use OOo's engine to convert files among various formats, including PostScript and/or PDF?
That is more a problem for either the framework or applications ?
We support printing from the command line already, please have a look at http://framework.openoffice.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?dcID=806&action=download which describes all supported command line parameters. You can develop a tool that uses OOo to convert a document into different formats. But as I know many people are already developing this kind of tool. Maybe you can ask in the newsgroup "openoffice.api.dev" if someone can provide you his/her tool.

As Carsten mentioned, this enhancement has already been implemented. This issue is therefor set to "worksforme".
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
