(Information based on discussion with mba, E-Mail 2008-01-27; 4:03 pm)

Editing text in the Notes Windows does ignore formatting changes of the
AutoCorrect function. Other changes, like “First Letter Capitalization of New
Sentences†work as expected.

Steps to reproduce (Example):
1. Insert a note
2. Enter a string like “The should *should* be bold.â€
3. AutoCorrect changes the word “shouldâ€. Both '*' are removed.

Expected Result: “should†is now formatted in bold font.
Actual Result: “should†is formatted normal like before.

I think you wanted to do it.....
Comment 2 Mathias_Bauer 2008-01-29 22:45:29 UTC
Indeed. And I agree that target 3.x is enough.

There is a similar problem for words which are not selected during format
changes. Please tell me if there is a need for a separate issue.

Example:
1. Right click on a word in a Note Window (without spellchecking error)
2. Select "Bold"

Expected Result: Word is formatted in bold (like it would be in the normal
Writer document)
Actual Result: Word keeps it's formatting.

This is not an issue in the outliner the difference is the following:

- if you righ click inside the document on the word, the cursor is placed at
that location, then the formmating happens -> complete word is bold

- inside the note, the cursor is not put to the new location, but stays at the
end -> following entered text is bold
