Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 85712
MacOSX : Japanese : Default Japanese font
Last modified: 2009-07-20 15:57:27 UTC
In MacOSX Aqua build and Japanese environment, default Japanese font is selected as: HG 明æœL Sun, which is incorrect. should be ãƒ’ãƒ©ã‚®ãƒŽæ˜Žæœ ProN W3 (Leopard) and ãƒ’ãƒ©ã‚®ãƒŽæ˜Žæœ Pro W3 (Tiger and prior). The difference between ãƒ’ãƒ©ã‚®ãƒŽæ˜Žæœ ProN W3 and ãƒ’ãƒ©ã‚®ãƒŽæ˜Žæœ Pro W3 is: supporting JIS X 0213:2004 and concisely presented glyph in JIS (例示自体)[1]. Vista also supports JISX 0213:2004 and 例示自体. [BTW: there are incompatibility between (1) Vista and WindowsXP, (2) Vista and MacOSX Tiger, but no such compatibility issue in (1) Vista and Leopard. reassign to hdu.

Added the japanese default fonts for MacOSX to the configuration file in CWS aquavcl05. Since issue 68864 isn't fixed yet that configuration file is getting more and more unmaintainable. The owner of that task should maintain it himself to get some motivation to implement the fix,... grumble.
On a second thought it is not a good idea to have them as document fonts, since OOo currently doesn't support PDF-export of them.
please verify in CWS aquavcl05
