Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 85925
MacOSX : Japanese : Font fallback system
Last modified: 2009-07-20 15:55:18 UTC
Font fallback system of Japanese, MacOSX is not correct. When I opened an Excel file created with MS Windows containing Japanese characters, correct font is not substituted. 1. MS P ゴシック or MS ゴシック-> Hiragino Kaku Gothic ProN W3 -> Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro W3 2. MS P æ˜Žæœ or MS 明æœ-> Hiragino Mincho ProN W3 -> Higagino Mincho Pro W3 3. メイリオ -> Hiragino Maru Gothic ProN W4 -> Hiragino Maru Gothic Pro W4 (be aware of second and third ones. the difference is ProN and Pro. ProN is only available on Leopard.
Assign to hdu. thanks for your hard effort, I'm very happy if you have a look.
@maho: is the MacOSX port you are referring to the Aqua or the X11 port?
hdu: Aqua. In any case, supporting Japanese font on X11 system is really head ache.
@maho: Could you check the "blind" fix I did by replacing the VCL.xcu file in your installation with http://util.openoffice.org/source/browse/*checkout*/util/officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/VCL.xcu ?rev=1.59.16.2 ?
Revising my comment above: Better get the newest version of the file from http://util.openoffice.org/source/browse/util/officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/VCL.xcu? view=log&only_with_tag=cws_src680_aquavcl05 The fallback for Meiryo will work, but not for メイリオ unless the corresponding change in http://gsl.openoffice.org/source/browse/gsl/vcl/source/gdi/outdev3.cxx?r1=1.234.48.4&r2=1.234.48.5 is applied.
fixed ?
can you please verify if the changes in aquavcl05 are adequate ?
verified. Sorry for delay. I opened one Excel file and one Word file. The Fonts are correctly substituted. Many thanks for hdu and pl.
