Font fallback system of Japanese, MacOSX is not correct.

When I opened an Excel file created with MS Windows containing Japanese characters,
correct font is not substituted. 

1. MS P ゴシック or MS ゴシック-> Hiragino Kaku Gothic ProN W3 -> Hiragino Kaku
Gothic Pro W3
2. MS P æ˜Žæœ or MS 明æœ-> Hiragino Mincho ProN W3 -> Higagino Mincho Pro W3
3. メイリオ -> Hiragino Maru Gothic ProN W4 -> Hiragino Maru Gothic Pro W4

(be aware of second and third ones. the difference is ProN and Pro.
ProN is only available on Leopard.

In any case, supporting Japanese font on X11 system is really head ache.

@maho: Could you check the "blind" fix I did by replacing the VCL.xcu file in your installation with

Revising my comment above: Better get the newest version of the file from

The fallback for Meiryo will work, but not for メイリオ unless the corresponding change in http://gsl.openoffice.org/source/browse/gsl/vcl/source/gdi/outdev3.cxx?r1=1.234.48.4&r2=1.234.48.5 
is applied.

Sorry for delay. I opened one Excel file and one Word file.
The Fonts are correctly substituted.

This issue is closed automatically and wasn't rechecked in a current version of
OOo. The fixed issue should be integrated in OOo since more than half a year. If
you think this issue isn't fixed in a current version (OOo 3.1), please reopen
it and change the field 'Target Milestone' accordingly.
