Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 86149
Add configurable color profiles for notes in notes2 and ODF 1.2
Last modified: 2014-02-20 18:08:48 UTC
Add color profiles in notes2 and ODF 1.2 that can be dependent of all sorts of things, metadata. For example doing a color per date, so notes are visible per date. (handy for looking what's new) Another example let each user has it's own color profile (if more than one person wants to be green or want other users to have a certain color). Another example letting certain groups of users have the same color. Making groups of notes based on user-generated metadata about notes. Easily group notes on a number of other metadata than author and the ones that I've just mentioned.
Several of these configurable color profiles could be stored also in the .od* file or somewhere in the user preferences folder. (And every user could choose to add profiles to the od* file or keeping them to themselves.)
Hi! I just stumbled on this bug report and had some problems to understand it. My main question is: what problem is solved by the proposed behavior? You refer to colors, metadata and notes. Is it the ability to set the color, the ability to filter objects according to the user's demand, ... Could you please provide a scenario or a use case?
Reassigned to ES.
@dudson: I neither don't understand the use case. Please give examples and explain your concept.
Just to be sure. I'm assuming that notes can have images as a background. I'm speaking about the ability to set the color (or background image)automatically for new notes. And set, change or delete colors of notes according to parameters and rules defined in OOo Seeing something like this in MS Office 2007 that was called "voorwaardelijke opmaak" roughly translated conditional lay-out, for cells in MS Excel. -------------------------------------- Here's an example: What if there's a document that a group of people are trying to write or make something in. They are working with notes and because of font problems or other (language problems, screen readability problems, UTF8 problems, other technical problems) Those people decide to use notes with images as a background (of the note) or element in the note that tells something about what they are asking or saying.
Regarding this feature as non essential for 3.0. Reassigning to Requirements.
