Description xuedm 2008-02-28 06:49:56 UTC
I have found when we copy the text with 10pt from MS Word to OpenOffice. The
text size will be changed to 12pt.

I am not able to reproduce the problem from the scratch with my test documents,
please attach a document which shows the problem to this issue, so that we can
reproduce and fix the problem here. You can also send the document directly
(mru@openoffice.org) for the case it contains confidential data.
Thanks for supporting us!

Hi mru,

I have uploaded to snap picture to show the issues.

Test Case Steps:
1. write text in MS Word and set font size to 10
2. copy the text to OpenOffice swriter

expect:
the text has same format.

actual:
the font size will be change to 12.

I have understood quite well what you are doing... I said, I am not able to
reproduce the described error, means: I generated a document from the scratch in
MS Word 2003, entered text in 10 pt size and copied it to OOo Writer - this
worked well, so I asked you for a sample document and not screenshot proofing
the error. I am in need of reproducing the bug, otherwise our developers won't
be able to fix it...
Thanks for your patience!

Hi Michael,

I have compared document and found the issue relates to default font size. As
you done, it's OK when it's same in OpenOffice and MSWord. My default font
size is 10pt in MSWord and 12pt in OpenOffice. So the size will be changed
from 10pt to 12pt with copy. If you modify the default size is 14pt, text with
14pt will have problem.
I think OpenOffice only remember the default style and ignore the actual font
size. However font name is OK.

This "only" happens when the copied text is pasted as HTML format into Writer
(which is the default of "paste" process). When you copy it as RTF (open the
"Paste" control in the toolbar or use "Edit.Paste special" dialog) it looks fine.

MRU->AMA: open attached 86533.doc in MS Word copy content to clipboard and paste
into Writer as HTML -> the first paragraph will have wrong font size. I do not
know if the HTML code contains information about the font size in this point, or
if it only contains the information "Default" paragraph...
