Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 87347
Inconsistent terms: Autoformat - Autocorrect
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:11 UTC
The function 'AutoFormat' in menu Format changes the document according to the settings made in menu Tools-AutoCorrect.... It's confusing to have two terms for the same function as there is another 'AutoFormat' in the menu Table. AutoFormat in menu Format should be renamed to AutoCorrect.
I suggest as a better postion for "menu: format > autocorrect > apply" the menu "extras" and a new name for the command. Further I suggest to rename "extras > autocorrect" into "extras > autocorrect manager" My complete suggestion: Extras ... Autocorrect Manager Autocorrect Whole Document ...

Problem: In English UI, the shortcut for the new string "AutoCorrect" is "C". This is already used for "Change case", an entry that does open a sub menu and thus a second usage of "C" is not possible. All letters of "AutoCorrect" are already taken in the format menu. With the old string "AutoFormat, it was "F". Proposal: The entry "Frame/Object" currently has "E". If that is changed to "M", then "E" can be used for "AutoCorrect". Issue reopened.
SBA: Reassigned to MOD.
please verify
Now Format - AutoCorrect has "E" as shortcut, no conflicts. Verified in CWS menuchanges.
