Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 87900
cannot set major interval to minutes if axis is formatted as date/time
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:19:16 UTC
I use OOo with German local on a German WinXP. Create an x-y-chart with x-axis in date/time format, for example showing 23.01.2008 12:00 to 24.1.2008 15:00. Insert all grids. Now try to enter a value in the major interval, so that you get a major grid of 4 hours. Enter 04:00 You get the error message "The major interval requires a positive number. Check your input." After clicking OK on the error message you see, that the input field has changed to 0.16666666666667 Trying to use this as entry fails the same way. Using the German syntax 0,166666666666667 fails too. Workaround: Go to the Numbers tab and change format to number > standard. Go to the Scale tab and enter the decimal number 0.166666666666667 or 0,166666666666667 respectively, depending on your local. Go back to Numbers tab and change format back to date. Expected behaviour: If the axis is formatted as date/time, it should be possible to enter hours in time syntax or at least as decimal fraction day.
Hi Iha: pls have a look.

Checked in OOo300_m3_EN on WinXP. Regina, I have checked it as what you described. >Enter 04:00 >You get the error message "The major interval requires a positive number. >Check your input." But there is no error message when I entered 04:00, then switch to any other tab except Scale tab, return to Scale tab, you can find that the value has became 0.16666666666667. So, I don't know it is relative to OOo build or Language settings. Please check it in the latest build to reproduce this bug, ^_^ Li Meiying
The error is still there in OOo3.0 beta 3 on WinXp. It depends on the setting in tools > options > Language Settings > Languages > Local setting. I've made some test. For example Finish Danish Greek French (Belgium) French (France) Dutch (Netherland) show the error and German (Switzerland) Italian (Italy) are OK.
Fixed in CWS calcchartrtl01. When time or date time formats are used at the axis the intervals now can be entered with time format.
