Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 88685
mails are delivered with huge delay
Last modified: 2012-03-01 21:54:53 UTC
Mails of different types going through the site or originated at the site show a significant delay: >10 minutes up to days. Some examples: after 10 minutes I still don't have the password mail sent after registration, a significant number of list messages (users@ooo, dev@ooo) arrive with a delay of hours.
Hi, Thank you for contacting CollabNet Support. We will start our research based on the infotmation provided to us and get back to you on the findings. Thanks, Karthikeyan.S, Support Operations.
Stefan, I have requested for mail logs from the internal team. I will get back to you shortly. Thanks and Regards, Karthikeyan.S, Support Operations.
Stefan, From our analysis, It looks like the delay seems to be at Sun's end ( Sun Servers) . Thanks for the detailed information: I will forward this within Sun. But to me it looks like there must be another problem affecting delivery to addresses outside of the sun.com domain. The address mailtest [at] ooo.services.openoffice.org doesn't receive any email from lists or forwarded for user stx032.
St, Could point us to the mail archive of this mail id mailtest [at] ooo.services.openoffice.org. Is this an mailid created/maintained by Collabnet or is a mailing list from a specific project . Since I was not able to find any entry of this mail id in our mail logs . Thanks Jobin
The machine is not maintained by CollabNet. The address mailtest [at] ooo.servicees.openoffice.org is not a list, but an account. The problem is that this address does not receive messages from the main site - neither as subscriber to the ooo lists nor as user address.
Stefan, Sorry for the late reply to this issue however this is the information we are receiving from the mail logs when the mail are been sent out to the email id mailtest@ooo.services.openoffice.org . IMO looks to be a issue at Sun's end . Apr 29 23:15:14 s006.sjc.collab.net qmail: [ID 748625 mail.info] 1209536114.261952 starting delivery 3448043: msg 81225 to local httpd-mailtest@ooo.services.openoffice.org Apr 29 23:15:14 s006.sjc.collab.net qmail: [ID 748625 mail.info] 1209536114.321473 delivery 3448043: failure: Unable_to_find_hostname_ooo.services.openoffice.org_in_list_of_valid_domains/
I can confirm that the original problem has been resolved. But Sun's infrastructure is not involved in the delivery to @...services.openoffice.org. To me this looks more like the subdomain services.openoffice.org and all the hosts therein are not "in_list_of_valid_domains" at the CEE end.
I am closing this issue based on my private mail sent to stefan with the subdomain details .
