Description Oliver Specht 2008-04-28 08:33:48 UTC
Use Writer's mailmerge wizard and create a new database.
The created data cannot be used because the Tab character is not set as
FieldSeparator.

Additionally:
- close the wizard
- call the database browser (F4)
- edit the database of the newly created data source
- change the separator to TAB ->the document is not modified

Repeat the steps after connecting the database in the db-browser then it works.

regression, target set to 3.0
Comment 2 Oliver Specht 2008-04-28 09:28:57 UTC
I wrote the issue too early.
The changed setting gets lost sometimes. At least at restart of the office.
Comment 3 Frank Schönheit 2008-05-22 13:47:29 UTC
fs->oj: You don't need mail merge for this. Just use an arbitrary text-based
database, and change, in the UI, the Field Delimiter to {Tab}. After saving,
closing, and re-opening the document, this setting is gone.

Looking into the content.xml there is
<db:driver-settings>
  <db:delimiter db:field="	"
                db:string="""
                db:decimal="."
                db:thousand=","/>
  <db:font-charset db:encoding="UTF-8"/>
</db:driver-settings>
I.e., the setting is properly written, but not properly read by the filter.

Comment 10 marc.neumann 2008-06-18 08:53:50 UTC
I can't reproduce the problem in a DEV300_m13 and DEV300_m17. So I also can't
check the fix.

Please add a description how to reproduce the issue and how to test the fix.
Comment 11 marc.neumann 2008-06-18 08:54:26 UTC
reassign back to oj
Comment 12 ocke.janssen 2008-06-18 09:19:27 UTC
- start mail merge
- go to 3. Insert address book
- Push button Select Different Address List
- Push button Create
- Push button Save and set a name
- Push button Ok
- Push button Match Fields
=> The columns can not be matched
