Description cno 2008-04-30 11:36:22 UTC
Adding/linking slide from other presentation with drag 'n drop from Navigator
does not work

- open two presentations
- open Navigator
- select the inactive presentation at the bottom of the Nav.
- select Drag mode Insert as Copy (top bar of Nav.)
- drag slide from Nav. to presentation ...
  -> nothing happens

In 2.2.0 this worked (have no 2.3.1 at hand)
Also insert as (hyper)link do nothing.

In Dev300_m10 this is also broken.

Reassigned.
Comment 2 cno 2008-05-19 10:26:35 UTC
Set keyword regression.
Any news on target?
Comment 3 christian.guenther 2008-06-17 09:14:26 UTC
This depends on your navigator changes.
Please take this issue as a kind of reminder.

cor@cgu:
(Adding you as cc, don't know if you see my comment without.)

I guess your comment was mentioned for af? (Anyway, I don't really understand it.)

Since this is a regression, I don't think OOo-later is fine.
Comment 5 wolframgarten 2008-06-27 12:58:38 UTC
Yes, cornouws is right when he says that this is a regression compared to former
versions. cgu has not handled this completely correct in the beginning. But I
had a talk with af and he is stuffed with more serious issues already. As this
is not a data-loss and not a crash I set the target to 3.x. Hope everyone is
satisfied with this decision.
Comment 6 cno 2008-06-30 15:02:19 UTC
I can't speak for the others from 'everyone', nor can I discuss about others'
agenda, but isn't the working of the Navigator a basic functionality? Everything
later than 3.0 is a pitty, IMO.
Comment 7 wolframgarten 2008-07-17 12:39:57 UTC
The navigator as a tool for navigating is working as it should. It is just this
one functionality of copying slides to another presentation that does not work.
IMHO this is not a basic functionality anymore. AND: the desired effect of
getting a slide from one file to another can be achived more easily and visual
with using the slidesorter and drag'n'drop functionality.
I can live with this "pity" if the saved time is used for fixing something more
severe like a crash. Don't you agree?
Comment 8 cno 2008-07-17 20:54:03 UTC
@wg: well, my glasses are a bit navigator-colored. So I just didn't think of
another way to copy slides ... So yes: in that light I fully agree that there
are definitely issues that are more important. Sorry for the noise.
Comment 9 wolframgarten 2008-07-18 11:16:11 UTC
Thanks for agreeing!

Reviewed priority.
Comment 11 groucho266 2011-03-08 16:46:31 UTC
There is more than one reason why this does not work:
- View was not correctly set at the transferable created by the navigator
- new slidesorter did not support the data format supplied by the transferable

Fixed in cws impress211

@wg: Please verify.
