Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 88995
[notes2]note meta area does not consider author font size setting
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:15:14 UTC
When a note is inserted into a text document, the note's author is included. On my box, the author's name is in a font size that is larger than the note itself and for long names, it tends to crowd out the text. Since authors are repeated, but the note text is important, I would prefer the note author's name to be smaller than the note's text.
On my machine the time beneath the author name is cropped. Reason seems to be same, font size being to large.

@regina: Thanks for reporting. As far as I know, the layout inside the Notes will change until OOo 3.0 final. I hope that this can be considered. @rnhainsworth: Thank you, too. Your behavior seems to be a duplicate of issue #85389 and is more worse with larger UI fonts (unwanted line break). @mod: 120dpi fonts are kind of accessibility related and therefore presumably mandatory. Could you please decide how to proceed? Changed summary.
- as a short term fix for 3.0, I made the size of the meta information font fixed, should be nice now on linux as well as with larger windows fonts - very long names as well as larger fonts for accessibility reasons should be possible as well, but for this to work, the layout algorithm of the notes has to be adapted first to be able to handle variable meta area height. Once this is done, the other issues are easy and fast to fix
As noted in issue #85389 general solution is to crop long names adding ... to end What do I download to see new behaviour? I dont want to compile.
this will be fixed in http://eis.services.openoffice.org/EIS2/cws.ShowCWS?Path=DEV300%2Fnotes5, so once you see status integrated there, you can try a developer snapshot
