Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 89507
C++/Java SimpleBootstrap doesn't work on Mac OSX
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:10:00 UTC
i88687 fixed the broken SimpleBootstrap feature for the new 3 layer office but on Mac OSX there is still a problem and it doesn't work so far. Current problems - missing soffice -> soffice.bin link in <office_root>/Contents/MacOS maybe be solved with stacktrace feature -> check with HRO - missing libjpipe.jnilib -> libjpipe.dylib link in <office_root>/Contents/basis-link/ure-link/lib - office process seems to start but no document window comes up.
.
jsc: some further tests have shown that the SimpleBootstrap feature worked but loadComponentFromURL doesn't work. The call blocked the office proecess and doesn't return.
- missing soffice -> soffice.bin link: fixed for now by adding that symlink (will probably be obsoleted by an eventual crash reporter feature for Mac OS X) - missing libjpipe.jnilib: renamed libjpipe.dylib accordingly - no document comes up: is rather unrelated to the other parts of this issue (a problem in vcl, it appears), new issue 90522
@cn: please verify (as long as issue 86121 is not fixed, you can use the SimpleBootstrap_java.jar attached to issue 90522; to work around the problem in issue 90522, start soffice first; then execute "UNO_PATH=<path to OpenOffice.org.app/Contents/MacOS java -jar SimpleBootstrap_java.jar" with a Java 1.5 or later)
ok in cws
