Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 90605
Calc -missing options in Filter menu, probably due to untranslated strings
Last modified: 2008-07-09 08:40:02 UTC
In the Windows version of OOo 2.3.0, localisation SK, Calc, the Data -> Filter -> Standard, the Condition column dosen't offer "Contains", "Does not contain", "Begins with", "Ends with" options. The OOo 2.4.0, Linux (Ubuntu), SK localisation, distributional, however OFFERS these options, in UNTRANSLATED (english) form. The OOo3.0 beta, Linux, SK build, DOSEN'T offer the options either. Therefore I assume, that the missing options are somehow tied to the localisation build process. I assumed, that complete localised packages are prone to the bug, while egnlish verions that are localised using localisation packs offer the untranslated options in original (english) form. However, installing the OOo2.4.1 WXP, english, the options are MISSING even in pure ENGLISH version, without any language pack being applied! So that bogus me a lot. At least, we need a way to allow Windows user to access these options, even in untranslated form. However, so far, we are unable to do even that.
Installed OOo2.4.1 Linux (deb) SK package -options MISSING.
I have installed OOo3.0B m18 Linux EN version, the options are MISSING. Installed SK langpack, still missing. So far, only Ubuntu distributional version does have all the options.
In DEV300_m21_en WinXP, the options are MISSING.
I'm comming to conclusion, that it even might NOT be associated with language packs. Any version, any language I have tested, Windows or Linux, dosen't have the options. Exceptions are: The Ubuntu distributional version, and the OxygenOffice. I attempted to get the Ubuntu's OOo extensions, so I opened the Tools > Extension manager, in OOo, however the only extension listed is writer2latex.uno.pkg And I'm not sure of whether this extension could be the one I'm searching for. Moreover, the option "Disable" is not active for me, so that I cannot even test the OOo with this etension disabled. So, I'm trying to get an idea from the list of extensions of OxygenOffice, that is in fact OpenOffice enhanced by bunch of extensions. http://ooop.wiki.sourceforge.net/ See the paragraph "OpenOffice.org with extras" on the page for the list of enhancements. From what I see, the most familiar with this issue could be these: "Calc solver" "And many more smaller improvments" This might be the list of extensions: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=170021&package_id=208656 However, I'm not sure, the "templates" is what I'm looking for, neither the "accessories" that are cliparts in fact. So, although there is some indication now that the missing options are rather matter of etensions than of language, I cannot figure out, what extension exactly could be involved in this. How could I do that?
Needless to say, I assume the Calc should offer these options naturally: -Excel does -They are rather common, by no mean exotical ones. If these options are really accessible thru some extension only, then please consider adding the particular extension into mainstream codebase.
