Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 90787
[a11y] Impress stops sending accessibility events after a non-Normal mode is selected.
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:20:06 UTC
See also Orca bug #538394 which is blocked by this issue. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=538394 Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Orca. 2. Open the presentation attached to the Orca bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=112760&action=view 3. Tab to each placeholder, press Return to edit it, arrow around the text, and then press Escape to stop editing. (Orca should and does announce each placeholder that receives focus and the characters/lines arrowed to) 4. Type Alt-v to go to the view menu and choose another view (Outline, Notes, Handouts, Slide Sorter). 5. Immediately go back to the view menu and choose Normal mode. 6. Repeat step 3. Expected results: Orca would continue to announce each placeholder that receives focus and the characters/lines arrowed to Actual results: Orca is silent. From the Orca debug log attached to the Orca bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=112846&action=view you will see that we are getting no accessibility events from Impress after returning to the Normal mode. This is with OOo 3.0beta_20080429 on Ubuntu Hardy. (This might also be a duplicate or a variation on issue #90786 but I'm filing it separately in case it isn't).
