Description oopla 2008-06-20 13:13:01 UTC
While checking for distro-specific bugs, I've been puzzled by the fact that
'standard filter' in official OOo builds is missing the usual 'Contains'
'Starts with' 'End with' conditions: Debian's 2.4.0 does have them, official
OOo 2.4.1 as well as 1.1.5 don't.
Why?
People coming from MS-Excel are used to them and often dislike the idea of
learning a bit of regex to do what they used to do with a click.

thanx

OOo-dev300-m21_en also has the problem.
In additional, there are not 'Not Contains'
ã€'Not Starts with' and 'Not End with' conditions, either。(my OS is Windows Xp)

This is only a defect if these conditions are part of the current code. If not, you need to put in an
enhancement request. I agree that these are basic conditions which users will expect in a standard filter,
but you need to follow the correct procedure for adding changes. So please submit an enhancement
request with your information and opinion. (Better still, code the change and submit a patch! :) )

Just checking, Calc devs, are these "missing" conditions part of current code? Or should the user submit
an enhancement request (or patch)?

I couldn't find a reference to a Debian-specific patch / add-on, so
I'm wondering where such code comes from.
Anyway, I agree it's more like an enhancement request than a bug,
hence I've changed issue type.

thx

reassigning features and enhancements to user requirements@openoffice.org which
will be the default owner for those tasks (was introduced some time ago)
