Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 91149
Contour mode with PNG file loses image contents after file save
Last modified: 2008-07-02 11:26:12 UTC
If you take a PNG file (or perhaps any other with an alpha channel) and insert it into a page (I attached it to an additional frame that contains text and images), change the outline mode to Optimal and check the Contour box, the text will flow nicely around the object in the picture. Hit save. Scroll away from the page and scroll back. The image is fully alpha'd out (transparent) though the text wrapping is still in effect. When you Print the document, the page displays without the image at all, just as it does on screen. You can get the image back by unchecking Contour, hitting OK, then checking Contour again. If you print BEFORE saving the document, everything prints correctly with images and text. As soon as you hit save, they all disappear. This bug goes back to 2.0 and is present currently in 2.4.1.
Please attach a sample document.
Created attachment 54801 [details] This has a frame with a PNG anchored to it which will not show up, though it is present in the file.
I noticed the error does NOT occur when the image is anchored to the page, but does occur when anchored to the frame. Print Preview will help debug the issue too: before saving the file, it shows the image where it belongs; save the file; print preview will show no picture. The change happens once you save the file, apparently.
The problem only occurs with linked graphics (like in your attached sample). Already tracked as issue 64562. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 64562 ***
