Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 9139
Graphics from converted Word documents in wrong place
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
I just began using OpenOffice recently, but in almost all of the Word documents I have opened, pictures are misplaced. I have the impression that the problem is particularly severe in headers/footers, but this is anecdotal. If anyone wishes to look into this, I can provide several examples by email to sfreeman@it-r.net.
Created attachment 3557 [details] Problematic Word document
This file (Sample Open Office 3.doc) shows two bugs: 1) The position of the picture and the position and size of the borderlines in the header are wrong in the OpenOffice version. 2) There are two pictures in the file, but the OpenOffice version of Word shows only of them - twice.
i see no one is dealing with this.... so it seemed time to confirm the issue!
Both graphics appear in 644_m11. On the other hand, when viewed in Word 97, the first graphic continues below the header zone: the bottom line of the header comes about halfway up the graphic. In OOo, the bottom line of the header zone is some way below the bottom of the graphic. So this is definitely a flaw in the import filter.
SBA->MRU: Graphics in header. But freeman's description looks like further problems beside this (One graphic twice). Maybe this issue must be split...
Probelm 2 (one graphic shown twice) has already been fixed in OO 1.0.2.
First problem is the same as described in issue #13900. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 13900 ***
Closed, because one problem fixed, the other is duplicate.
