Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 91859
Some of gallery element is not viewable
Last modified: 2009-07-20 15:57:50 UTC
I just finished the build of DEV300-m25. I have several galleries and I tried some of them. Some has problem because I can not view all elements in the gallery. When I update the selected gallery theme all non openable element suddenly removed. It seems OOo3 can not handle all of gallery created with older versions. I copied back problematic files to OOo 2.4.1 (also my build) and it handled perfectly. One problematic gallery is linked on URL. I raised prio because of data lost.
Unpack files to their place and restart office. The new gallery will appear. If you double click on first Clip Art - nothing appears in the preview.
I checked with "Ooo 3.0.0 Beta 2 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [BEB300M3 (Build 9328)]" and can NOT confirm the reported effect. After I unpacked the gallery files to '...\OpenOffice.org3\user\gallery\', I had a new item in the gallery view called "shapes - polygons". The 32 shapes worked fine in WRITER, DRAW, CALC, although some look somehow ugly (missing border). @kami_: Your report would be more useful if you could replace all those "some", "none", "all" by concrete information (how many shapes should be visible, what one diaappears after what key press ...) Pls. specify your OS and platform!
Ubuntu 8.04 / 64 bit I tested with Build 9330. 32 element should be visible. But if you duble click on all elements (except the last five) you can not check the preview (with double click) and you cannot insert into doc.
I checked with "Ooo-dev 3.0.0 Beta Multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [300m25 (Build9330)]" and can confirm the reported effect. But WFM with m21. Not a special DRAW issue, same problem in WRITER and CALC. Related to Issue 91470?
reassigned
No, not duplicate. What works for i91470 does not solve the problem here, I have tested the files in the appropriate CWS impress148. Reproducible, reassigned.
I have huge extension for gallery here, http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/oxygenoffice-gallery Lots of elements aren't working at all. I would like to ask the developer to mark this issue as a blocker for 3.0 and fix it whitin this timeframe. Thanks, KAMI
No, this is not a build blocker. After all, this way of extending the gallery uses unsupported functionality. If I find the time then I will look into this. You can do this, too. The code of the gallery can be found at /svx/source/gallery2.
Setting target to OOo 3.1.
Why does this way unsopported? What is the supported way?
It seems supported... http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Non-code_extensions Still exist in m28.
I will have a look
looks like fixing insertion of ole shapes to gallery surfaced another bug. So far, SvxDrawingLayerImport always returned success when there was an error during import. Was not detect because in that case the returned model had no pages. For convenience the returned model is now always valid. This led to a failure of exporting old OOo 1.x documents in this case. Fixed for cws impress151 in svx/source/xml/xmlexport.cxx
cl->kami: your gallery themes are still in OOo 1.x xml format. It is possible that this will not be supported for the time being. After OOo 3.x reached some maturity you should consider recreating them.
How can I recreate them? How can I decide if it is in 1.x format or not?
verified in cws cl->msc: please verify
CGU: Verified in cws impress151 There is another bug which looks similar when I install the gallery as extension. This is another bug and I write a new issue for this other bug.
This issue is closed automatically and wasn't rechecked in a current version of OOo. The fixed issue should be integrated in OOo since more than half a year. If you think this issue isn't fixed in a current version (OOo 3.1), please reopen it and change the field 'Target Milestone' accordingly.
