Description sagittarius_wpd 2008-08-08 05:07:30 UTC
In OOo 3.0 Beta 2 on Windows XP, Impress' editing tabs (Notmal, Outline, Notes,
Handout, Slide Sorter) stop working after exiting a slide show, and I can't
change editing modes until I close the current presentation or restart OOo.

Attached is a screenshot of what happens after a slide show.

Does this happen for you with all presentations or only with a specific one?
Does it happen with an empty presentation? Thanks for your help.

It happens with at least two presentations I've been working on. I tested the
issue using an empty presentation and the tabs still don't work.

More facts:
- The presentations I've been working on have been edited using OOo 2.4. I use
OOo 3.0 when I present them, using the Sun Presenter Console extension (Could it
be the reason why tabs stop working?)
- My OOo 3.0 installation is fresh. I've only added the Sun Presenter Console
and PDF Import extensions.

Thanks for your comment. The presenter console is the problem.
Comment 5 sagittarius_wpd 2008-08-14 04:16:29 UTC
Thanks. Do I need to report this to the Presenter Screen developers?

@sagittarius_wpd: No, I will take care of this.

This looks like the presenter console is installed but, because there is only
one display, is not displayed when the slide show is started.
On initialization the PresenterScreen locks the configuration controller of the
drawing framework. When the main pane can not be created, as is the case when
there is only one display, the initialization is aborted but the configuration
controller is not unlocked. Further requests to change the current
configuration, like changing the main view, are not processed.

Fixed by first checking for the existence of the main pane and only then locking
the configuration controller.
