The test was initialy designed to run on a "as needed" basis, however, i think
it's a good idea to have this tested on a regular basis.

- Do not use 60+ input files anymore, create them when needed (keep
testautomation small)
- Use new I/O functions
- Make it faster
- Cleanup on test exit
