Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 93844
Corruptive RTF Export Bug from 2.2.1 to 3.0.
Last modified: 2008-09-15 15:12:02 UTC
Found corruptive RTF export bug in all versions of OpenOffice.org from 2.2.1 through 3.0 Release Candidate 1. I originally imported an RTF document into OOo and completed the balance of the writing as a ODT file. I saved it as a RTF file which I realized was laced with missing characters and words and spaces. I even did a compare document with the ODT original to re-confirm this. It appears that there's a bad ODT into RTF translation flaw in OOo in this situation. I suspect that since it was originally an imported RTF doc rather than entirely composed on OOo, that some inherent RTF bug was already manifested in the document upon importing and subtly corrupts any subsequent exported RTF copies. Just a non-techie guess. I will e-mail both ODT file and a RTF exported version on request which will be self-explanatory.

Problem is, that the indents are lost on export. Already tracked as issue 85599. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 85599 ***
