Description olde_cranke 2008-09-18 17:48:03 UTC
Loaded the new MacOSX 10.5.5 update - OOo will not start any more. It looks a
lot like the JRE timeout issue, but even with X11 (the new one - 2.1.5, i am
unable to get OOo to start at all. Tried backing out 2.4.1 and restore 2.4.0 -
same issue. I am on a 2.8 GHz intel iMac with 2 GB memory and have been using
OOo since i got this machine and for a few years on the G4 PowerBook which
preceded it. Use for word processing and spreadsheets almost exclusively.

I have run into the same issue and tried both Ooo 2.3.0 and 2.4.1 after
upgrading Mac OS X.

Intel platform, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.33 GHz, 3 GB memory, Mac OS X 10.5.5 (9F33).

bug not java-related, but caused the X11 update, not by OOo.

Either use the patch/solution from issue 87538 or go straight to OOo 3.0 version
that doesn't need X11 anymore.
