Description fcoiffie 2008-09-26 15:55:55 UTC
In File | Properties and "User Defined", when a field is renamed with "Info
fields..." button, the new name isn't kept when the dialod box is closed.
Therefore, the typed name is shown in Insert | Fields | Other and Document
Information.
Moreover, "User Defined" fields filled in 3.0beta2 doesn't appear in the
Properties Dialog Box in 3.0rc2.

Hello fcoiffie,
I cannot confirm your issue here with OOo 3.0 (final) under Debian
SID/Experimental AMD64. Could you give us some more information, please?
1. Which distro are you using? Which architecture?
2. Have you tried it with a newer version of OOo than RC2?
TIA
Thomas.
P.S.: Another possibility is to attach a document to this issue, where this
problem exists. Or maybe some screenshots or the like ... ;)
Comment 3 fcoiffie 2008-10-30 22:19:47 UTC
1. It was with Fedora 8 on x86
2. I've made the test on the 3.0 (but different distro : Gentoo x86) and I
cannot reproduce the problem by creating a new document.

The problem may be linked to the document format which was created with 3.0
beta.
I'll make some test at office tomorrow.

Please attach a sample document
Comment 5 fcoiffie 2008-10-31 14:45:45 UTC
I reproduced the problem with the 3.0 and this document. So, I suppose that
the document was corrupted by a previous 3.0 version.
I cannot attach the document as its an internal confidential document but I
attach 2 screenshots which show the problem.

Maybe a check could be added to avoid this.

Please send me the document as e-mail mentioning the issue ID in the subject line.
As a SUN employee I will keep this confidential.
Comment 9 eric.savary 2008-10-31 16:47:47 UTC
@AMA: I'll forward you the document.
Editing the info field name or the field content doesn't set the modifier flag.

Comment 11 Mathias_Bauer 2009-05-06 17:13:17 UTC
@mru: Does our new UI in 3.1 fix the problem?
Comment 12 michael.ruess 2009-05-06 21:55:16 UTC
Not really... If you try to rename a Field in File.Properties.Custom, a new
field will be generated when the dialog has been confirmed.
Comment 13 Mathias_Bauer 2009-05-06 22:48:20 UTC
So at least now the problem is a different one. :-)

Michael, please take over
Comment 14 mst.ooo 2009-10-06 15:18:39 UTC
hmm... i cannot reproduce this problem in DEV300m60.

when i change the name of a custom property and click ok, then when opening the
dialog again i get the property with the new name, and no additional ones.

can anybody confirm that this problem really exists?
Comment 15 michael.ruess 2009-10-06 15:50:00 UTC
Yes, the problem now is fixed in OOo 3.2.
