Description norbert2 2008-09-29 08:35:27 UTC
Hi.

When trying OOo 3 beta 2 in it's portable build, I found that extension cannot
be uninstalled.

I have attached the error message.
Comment 1 norbert2 2008-09-29 08:36:09 UTC
I'm using "OpenOffice_Portable_3_Beta2_en.paf.exe" which has 79,5 MB (83.384.881
Bytes).

Shorter path "D:\OOop" does not fix the problem.
Comment 4 norbert2 2008-09-29 08:52:56 UTC
Additional info:

I have installed the extensions "for all users". I have not tried the other method.

This is not an issue of the Portable!

Please read the how to install extensions on the portable version:
http://portableapps.com/support/openoffice_portable#install_extensions

If You install it 'for all users' it will be locked, to prevent the 'other
users', but in the portable there are no other users.

The extension delivered with the portable version are all uninstallable.

Again, if You'll use it non portable and with extensions please use the normal
version.

Is the portable OOo build EXACTLY from the same code as the official sun builds?

If it can use changed code, would it be possible to disable the "for all users"
button for portable build?
Comment 7 markomlm 2008-09-29 11:00:50 UTC
It is exactly the same code (based on the official sun packages) and no, there
is no way to disable this option.

We can use changed code but we will not, cause in this case we can't call it
OpenOffice.org Portable and use the copyrighted stuff. The result of modified
code has to be something like OxygenPortable or GoOOo.

OpenOffice.org Portable is as the name it says, a portable version of the
original package.
