Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 95088
Trouble setting default template
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:20 UTC
OO 3 on Mac OS X 5.5 Leopard won't remember the default template I set. Each time I quit and reopen OO, it reverts to the factory default template.
No reason for a P1 here. Please explain what you mean with default template and how you modify and save it.
- Import attached template and set it as default template -> When you open new doc, the new template will be used. - Restart OOo -> The new template is not the default one anymore
Created attachment 57237 [details] sample template
Even if that were a Mac only issue (which it probably isn't), this doesn't seem to be a gsl issue at all. cd: is this framework, or the template defaults per application ?
cd->mav: Could you please take a look.
*** Issue 94390 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
I'm running into the same issue on OOO300m9 (Build:9358) running on Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.4 (9E17). Create a template. Set it as default. Open new text document, template is correctly used. Close OOO entirely. Reopen OOO. Open new text document, template is ignored.
The problem affects not only templates, it affects other settings that are stored in configuration as well. The main point in the scenario is that the office should be closed using "OpenOffice/Quit OpenOffice" system menu. In this case some changes for the configuration are not stored. Should be fixed now.
As near as I can tell, nothing has changed. By quitting out of OO, my default template is forgotten (none of my other settings seem to be affected). Whether I Go into the menu and "Quit OO" or use command-Q, the result is the same: it returns to factory default. Why is this issue considered "resolved"? Maybe I'm not clear on what you mean.
mav->jrlarsonus: The issue is fixed in cws buildid301. After QA checks the issue in the cws the issue will get the status Verified if everything is OK. After successful checking the issue in release build the issue will be closed. Please use the following link to get more information regarding issues handling http://qa.openoffice.org/scdocs/issue_lifecycle.html
Sorry for the typo, the link is of course http://qa.openoffice.org/scdocs/issue_lifecycle.html
Strange, the edit field shows the link correctly, but after posting it is somehow corrupted. One more try "http://qa.openoffice.org/scdocs/issue_lifecycle.html".
Ok, the link looks to be corrupted because of our internal problem, the link in email notification as well as on OOo site looks ok.
Thanks, I think I get it. So does this mean that at some point a release of OO will have fixed this issue?
Exactly. The "Target milestone" field points to the release where the fix is planned to be integrated. In case of this issue it is OOo3.0.1.
mav->hi: Please verify the issue.
Verified with cws buildid301 = OK
This issue is closed automatically and wasn't rechecked in a current version of OOo. The fixed issue should be integrated in OOo since more than half a year. If you think this issue isn't fixed in a current version (OOo 3.1), please reopen it and change the field 'Target Milestone' accordingly. For me, this issue seems not to be fixed. I am running OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 - OOO310m19 (Build:9420) on Mac OS X 10.5.8 Build 9L30. My way to the problem: - Create a template (Set properties and fomatting as desired in a new text document) - Save it as a template (File -> Templates -> Save... Give it a new name and hit ok) - Set it as default template (File -> Templates -> Organize... Select desired template, use Commands -> Set As Default Template, Close) - All newly opened text documents use that template as default now - Quit OOo entirely - Start OOo again - Open a new text document => My own setting for the default template is ignored, factory setting is used instead.
