Description idanool 2008-10-19 13:00:42 UTC
assume valid file named "c:\myfile.odt"
When trying to open the file named "c:\myfile.odt " (with trailing space) OOo
crashs.
OOo should trim trailing spaces from filenames from the open dialogs
checked on OOo3 final on WinXP only. may exist on other platforms.
Comment 1 thorsten.martens 2008-10-20 11:05:34 UTC
TM->HRO: reproducible with system file-picker, with own file-picker -> warning
message appears, informing about a nonexisting file.
Comment 2 kai.sommerfeld 2009-06-16 10:11:33 UTC
cd: Please take over: Seems to be a Windows file picker issue.
Comment 3 carsten.driesner 2009-06-18 13:37:29 UTC
cd: Set target and priority.
Comment 4 Olaf Felka 2009-06-23 13:34:48 UTC
of: I've tested with DEV300_m50. Doing as described, the Office isn't crashing.
So I would adjust the prio.
Comment 5 idanool 2009-06-24 07:00:48 UTC
I've just tested it with the latest DEV300_m50. now if I try to open a file with
trailing space then the dialog closes but nothing happens. (but it doesn't crush).
(if the file isn't exist the an appropriate message appears and the dialog won't
close)
I suppose a better solution is to trim the spaces and open the right file, other
then just ignoring it.
Comment 6 Olaf Felka 2009-06-24 07:25:39 UTC
Yes you're right. That's the better solution. The OOo filepicker behaves like that.

cd: Change title of the issue to reflect the current state correctly.
Comment 8 Olaf Felka 2009-07-16 12:09:09 UTC
Due to the effort I would suggest that this issue is a 'wontfix'. It's not a
common use case to have this trailing space. It's XP only, Vista behaves correct.
Comment 9 idanool 2009-07-16 21:14:34 UTC
XP is still the most common PC OS...
This bug is simple to reproduce, and the fix seems just straight forward, so why
set it to wontfix ?
Is it more complicated then it seems to be ?
Comment 10 Olaf Felka 2009-07-16 22:26:20 UTC
The severity is very low. No duplicate for this issue, no votes. I think there
are more issues that needed attention and are more important.
Comment 11 carsten.driesner 2009-07-17 13:57:12 UTC
cd: Fixed. This was a low hanging fruit although I have to support of that it's
a very minor issue. I have never add blanks manually to file name therefore this
looks more like a interesting test case. Nevertheless this "error" is fixed now.
Comment 12 carsten.driesner 2009-07-23 08:34:10 UTC
cd->of: Please verify.
Comment 13 carsten.driesner 2009-07-24 15:24:12 UTC
cd: Correct fix.
Comment 14 Olaf Felka 2009-07-27 12:39:31 UTC
Looks good in cws filepicker02.
