Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 95260
Export to CVS should ignore blank as text delimiter
Last modified: 2014-01-12 06:57:37 UTC
This is a follow-up on 94999 . With regard to the last comment OO should ignore blank (' ') as a valid text delimiter, for the following reasons: - for the user it is nearly impossible to judge if the field for Text delimiter is empty/deleted or filled with a blank. - The result is different for " as delimiter vs. blank: With a " as delimiter, the result is: "Deeside Line 1 - 220 Silver Std JCAT91" With a blank it is: Deeside Line 1 - 220 Silver Std JCAT91 (Please note the additional blank around each word) This mean, with a blank as delimiter it behaves irregular. For these reasons....please ignore a blank as text separation char...
Please attach an example.
(In reply to Edwin Sharp from comment #1) > Please attach an example. As a result of the export with <blank> as trext delimiter, you may use the attachment as in this comment: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=94999#c1
Can not reproduce description. AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1555399 2014-01-06_04:13:46 - Rev. 1555657 Debian For column G "Short text": Import with text delimiter blank = Import with text delimiter double quote = Import with Calligra Sheets 2.6.4. Please explain.
Same for column E "Text"...
(In reply to Edwin Sharp from comment #3) > For column G "Short text": > Import with text delimiter blank = Import with text delimiter double quote = > Import with Calligra Sheets 2.6.4. Sorry, I dont understand what you mean by this. If you want to say: It looks all the same in the three cases, then the problem was obviously fixed in between. My bug-report is more than 5 years old!
